Welcome to the 2011 Calling All Innovators – North America contest, presented by Nokia and AT&T. We’re challenging developers to create the best native apps using the Qt SDK and premium 3D hardware accelerated games using OpenGL ES 2.0 for the Nokia N8. We are seeking apps and games for consumers in North America, or consumers globally inclusive of North America. $10 million in cash, devices, and marketing prizes makes this the largest single developer contest in history. Now is the time for you to take advantage of Ovi Store’s global reach which gives you access to the world’s largest community of app-purchasing mobile consumers, currently downloading 7 million times per day in more than 190 countries.
Due to overwhelming response from developers adopting Qt and feedback from developers attending the Qt trainings around the world we have extended the deadline for the $10M Calling All Innovators contest to March 31, 2011.
$10 million. 17 Categories. 500 winners. What are you waiting for?
Fifty-one (51) cash prize winners worth a total of $4.025M! Four (4) marketing winners worth $5.8M! 500 Symbian device winners!
500 developers will win a Nokia Qt-enabled smartphone. Fifty-one developers will win a share of over $4M in cash prizes. Out of those fifty-one developers, seventeen will win a $150K Category 1st place prize, seventeen will win a $50K Category 2nd place prize, and seventeen will win a $25K category 3rd place prize. Two developers will be Grand Prize runners-up and will each win $150K in cash and be featured in Nokia USA marketing campaigns in 2011 worth $1M. And finally, two developers will each win a Grand Prize of $250K in cash and will be featured in Nokia marketing campaigns in 2011 worth nearly $2M. That’s a lot of prizes and a lot of winners. In fact, the most ever for any single developer contest.
Marketing Prizes help drive your ongoing business and make you famous.
More than just a one-time cash payment, the nearly $6M in marketing prizes to be shared by the two Grand Prize winners and two Grand prize runners-up help drive Ovi Store revenue for you (in addition to the cash prizes) and help you to establish a monetizable user base of consumers for your app or game.
What are we looking for?
We are seeking top quality, premium experiences with great UIs in the form of native apps built with Qt and 3D graphics-intensive games built with OpenGL ES 2.0, that will delight consumers in North America (or consumers globally inclusive of North America). Global apps are welcome and encouraged, provided that they are relevant to consumers in North America. Use the power of Qt and OpenGL to deliver premium consumer experiences on the Nokia N8 and win big.
