Attention Australian Developers!

Special Prizes on Offer for Aussie Developers

Nokia Australia has teamed-up with Optus to offer Aussie developers two special prizes of AUD$5,000 for the winning application in each of the following categories:

Entertainment - Puzzles or Brain Teasers. We are seeking mobile apps for use on Nokia devices that challenge consumers to test their mental aptitude across a wide range of tests, puzzles and quizzes. Do you have a puzzle app that will prove to be a real mind bender? We want it!

Productivity - "Mobile Forms". These apps should allow sales or field staff to create an easy form using their Nokia mobile device. The form should be able to handle input boxes and drop-down lists. When an individual submits a completed form using one of these apps, the app would send the information back to that individual’s office computer in an easy-to-use format such as an Excel spreadsheet, .CSV file, or for use via e-mail. The app will likely include a list of pre-defined forms aligned to industry verticals for a quick start. When developing these productivity apps, the ease of creating forms and data entry will be among the key criteria for selecting the winning application.

What can you win?

The winning Puzzle/Brain Teaser app and "Mobile Forms" app in each of the categories above will receive AUD$5,000, as well as mobile and web advertising - via the Optus online portal - to promote the winning apps in the Ovi Store.

Additionally, for developers in Australia and pending sign-up with the Optus Partner Connect site, the winning app will be promoted and made available to Optus customers through the Optus Application Store!

And remember, these prizes in Australia are additional contest incentives – you could still be a global winner in one of the four main app submission categories!
So what are you waiting for?

Submit your entry to the contest before the deadline on 1 June 2010. For a qualified entry, you must submit all of the files required for a successful installation of the app, and let us know which Nokia devices can run the app. Then, tell us about your app and what makes it unique and appealing for consumers. Optionally, you can include supporting documentation about how your application works, what inspired you to create it, etc.
