Eco/Being Green Apps
Like its name implies, this category challenges developers to help save the planet with innovative, eco-friendly applications for use on Nokia devices.
While this category is new to the contest this year, the ideas that it represents are truly global in nature.
Do you have an app that will help individuals reduce their personal carbon footprint? Or perhaps help people to make environmentally sound decisions in their daily lives? Then this is the category for you.
For inspiration, consider the Green Explorer Widget, created by Nokia and available in Ovi Store now. This app is an Internet tool for learning and sharing tips about maintaining an eco-friendly lifestyle. Or, as another approach, consider Climate Mission, a game created by Nokia that features ecologically themed puzzles, where individuals can test their wits while learning more about climate change at the same time.
What can you win:
The top three submissions will receive the following cash prizes:
- Grand Prize: 30,000 USD in cash.
- 2nd Prize: 15,000 USD in cash.
- 3rd Prize: 5,000 USD in cash.
