1. What is the Calling All Innovators UK contest all about?
Calling All Innovators UK is a developer competition that challenges developers to create applications and services that will enhance the use of Nokia mobile devices by consumers in the UK.

2. Who can participate in the contest?
The competition is open to all mobile and web application developers. Nokia employees or externals directly involved in Nokia projects under NDA are not eligible to participate in this contest.
3. How do I submit my application for the contest?
It's very easy to participate in the Calling All Innovators contest. Go to the Application Submission page and follow the on-screen instructions. You will need to provide complete contact information and select the category for your entry. Then, you describe your solution, upload the application or submit the URL, along with any supporting materials (such as a demo video, whitepaper, etc.) explaining your application and its relevance to the category selected.
4. What are the important dates for the Calling All Innovators UK contest?
- Contest starts: 24 September 2009.
- Submission deadline: Midnight (GMT) on 30 November 2009
- Announcement of winners: By 31 December 2009.
5. What are the prizes for the contest?
The one grand prize winner to be selected among all contest categories will walk away with cash and other valuable prizes that include 20,000 GBP in cash; paid travel and a ticket to a Nokia developer event in the Spring 2010; Nokia’s sponsorship to become an Ovi Store publisher to get the winning application to Ovi Store*; and one-year membership in Forum Nokia Launchpad (value of 300 EUR).
In addition, the best entry in each of the other four categories will receive 2,500 GBP in cash; Nokia’s sponsorship to become an Ovi Store publisher to get the winning application to Ovi Store*; and one-year membership in Forum Nokia Launchpad (value of 300 EUR).
In addition, the winning applications in all categories will be reviewed by Nokia for possible preload on future Nokia devices.

6. How will you evaluate the mobile applications and services submitted to the contest?
A panel of judges will review all of the contest entries, and choose the finalists and winners according to the following criteria:
- Quality / Functionality: the application or service must be fully functional and run successfully on Nokia devices and platforms.
- Uniqueness, novelty value and innovativeness: display creativity in applications, use established technology in a unique way.
- Usability / Creativity: leverage latest technologies to demonstrate superior design (UI, graphics, etc.)
- Relevancy: ability to fulfill users' needs, customer adoption.
7. Who decides who will receive the prizes?
The winners will be selected by a panel of judges, which consists of Forum Nokia’s business development managers and technical experts as well as employees of the local Nokia office in the UK to evaluate the relevance to consumers in that particular market.
8. Which tools should I use to create applications, widgets, or services, and where can I get them?
You can find tools, documentation, training and much more at the Forum Nokia web site. The site also includes complete technical specifications of most Nokia devices.
9. Can I submit more than one application to the contest?
You can submit one application per category (up to five different applications) for the duration of the contest period. If you submit more than one application per category, the entries exceeding this limit will be ineligible and will not be evaluated by the judges.
